Kym's Capellini, Roosters Brewing Co. Ogden, UT

In downtown Historic Ogden, my wife and I found ourselves inside Roosters Brewing Co. And it's a pleasant place to be. Roosters is located on a cool street and in cool building. It's a perfect place for a brewpub. And not wanting a heavy meal, I ordered the light lunch: Kym's Capellini. This is a delightful pasta dish with scrumptious ingredients of sweet roasted tomatoes, feta cheese and fresh tomatoes on top of al dente capellini pasta. Throw in some roasted garlic, chopped basil and olive oil, and you have a succulent summer lunch. The blend of sweet roasted tomatoes meld well with the salty feta. And after twirling the pasta onto your fork, you get to sop up the juices of the tomatoes and olive oil with the toasted bread.

In celebration of the Utah summer, I chose the Bee's Knees Honey Wheat for my brew. This unfiltered wheat beer drank down light and refreshing.  As a wheat, it came across with citrus flavors that contrasted well with the sweetness of the roasted tomatoes. Along with a light meal, a light and yet full-bodied wheat beer is always welcome.

As mentioned above, a good part of dining at Roosters is the ambiance of the building. The restored 119 year old building has an outdoor patio along with the traditional  bar. Next time you are in the Salt Lake area, drive  up to Ogden and enjoy.
