Spaghetti with Meatballs, Pete's Restaurant and Brewhouse, Sacramento, CA

I'm in pleasant mid-town Sacramento, sitting at an outdoor table at Pete's Restaurant and Brewhouse , looking at a mouth watering plate of Pete's spaghetti and meatballs.

This version of spaghetti is a Pete's classic: spaghetti pasta in an Italian tomato sauce with onions, bell peppers, basil, olive oil, garlic and spices. Also, throw on top four chunky meatballs  and you have a nice moderately filling lunch. The spaghetti also comes with salad and french bread with melted cheese.

The meatballs of this dish set the tone. The meatballs, along with the savory tomato sauce topped with parmesan cheese, proved moist and juicy. The perfectly cooked noodles were al dente delicious. Filling out the meal, the french bread came toasty good, with melted cheese on top as an added treat.

For my beer, I chose the Belgian White. The beer arrived cloudy as expected, with a light head. Drinking the White was crisp and clean, with a slight bitterness and spice that added to the flavor. The White went well with the tomatoey spaghetti.

I decided to sit outside for a pleasant lunch watching dogs and their people saunter by. The mid-town neighborhood is pedestrian friendly with varied restaurants and coffee shops to satisfy whatever appetite you may have.

If you find yourself in Sacramento, make sure you check out Old Sacramento, a national historic landmark. It's just a lot of fun to walk along the wood planked sidewalks browsing the shops.
