Lamb Shawarma with Fries |
The flatbread sandwich arrived stuffed with a hefty serving of grilled meat. This longish sandwich is to be eaten with knife and fork. Biting into a morsel of meat, the grilled lamb and pork released all its delicious juices. The tangy feta added a sharp and pleasant taste to the mellow lamb. And the flatbread proved wonderfully capable in sopping up all the drippings of meat, feta, onions, and hummus. Yummy. Last, the thin cut fries were a welcome nibble while perusing my beer.
For my brew, I chose the interesting sounding Old Seattle Lager. Maritime Pacific describes its lager as reminiscent of beers in the early years of Seattle brewing. It seems that Northwest breweries are returning to cold fermentation lagers more and more. I applaud their efforts. The Old Seattle poured a golden color with a light head. It drank down easily like good lagers do with a clean and crisp taste to it. Light body and low alcohol made Old Seattle a fine complementary drink to the hefty shawarma. Try it.
