Hale's Stout Float & Brownies, Hale's Brewery and Pub, Seattle, WA

A quick stroll down the Burke-Gilman Trail from Maritime Pacific Brewing Co. one finds the the very appreciated Hale's Brewery and Pub. There I choose the Hale's Stout Float and Brownies for dessert..
Hale's Stout Float and Brownies
This ice cream float came with a straw and spoon and reminded me of all those childhood summer days of root beer floats. Hale's Stout Float arrived frothy with a sweet blend of vanilla ice cream and Hale's Troll Porter. I know that for you beer aficionados you would notice that my ice cream float came with a porter and not with a stout: I guess Hale's only had a porter available that day. Not to worry; the creamy porter played well with the ice cream: sudsy top, sweet porter and sweeter ice cream. Slurp!

The brownies were surprisingly light. With a light dusting of powdered sugar, the brownies had a rich cocoa taste that went well with the porter and ice cream. This is a heavy dessert, so I would recommend that if you want the Stout Float, I would choose a lighter lunch.

Hale's Ales
Hales' Ales is right off the Burke-Gilman Trail, a great walking, running, or bicycling trail. Drop by the next time you are in the area. It's a pleasant stop.
