Grinder Meatball Sandwich |
The Grinder arrived with the house's Italian meatballs smothered with Red Rock's crushed San Marzano tomato sauce. Adding a generous serving of melted Provolone cheese and all stuffed in a wood-fired pocket, and you have a hefty and eye-pleasing meal.
The tomato sauce sets the tone of the sandwich. Rich tomatoey taste adds the required ooomph to the juicy meatballs. The cheese blends nicely with the sauce and meat to mellow out the sandwich and gives the Brewpub Grub Foodie a delicious Red Rock experience.
For my brew, I chose the Red Rock Nut Brown Ale. The Nut Brown came in a bottle: Draft beer in Utah is limited to 4 percent alcohol by volume (abv). The bottled Nut Brown weighed in at a decent 6.1 abv. The Nut Brown drank down with a pleasant malty sweetness, with just a mild hoppiness. This is still a robust drink, so if you are eating a hefty plate of food, you might want a lighter brew.
Red Rock was awarded the Large Brewpub of the Year by the Great American Beer Festival. Drop by sometime, eat a good plate of pleasure food, and have a great brew. Life is good.
