Grilled Cheeseburger, Walking Man Brewing, Stevenson, WA
Summer hiking in the Columbia River Gorge deserves an aprรจs hike of cold beer and some belly-filling food to satisfy the hungry hiker, (and Walking Man and Woman). What I ordered was the hungry hiker Grilled Cheeseburger. Grilled outside in Walking Man's summer bbq pit, the burger arrived as a visual treat. See below . And the burger is a big one, a whopping one-half pound of burger covered with melted cheddar cheese. The burger comes with the usual suspects of lettuce, onion and tomato along with a side order of surprisingly good seasoned potato chips. Biting into the burger, it satisfied the taste buds with plenty of juicy meat that the bun could not overwhelm. In fact, the juices of the meat had filtered down into the bottom bun that added still more flavor to the eating experience.The melted cheddar was drippy delicious and made the burger a real treat to this hungry hiker. In all, a filling and rewarding endeavor.

Grilled Hamburger
For my brew, I chose the Keller Bier, a pale pilsner style beer. This light bodied session beer was light enough to quaff to slake the thirst and still have plenty of flavor to satisfy the taste. Moderately hopped and slightly carbonated, it was easy drinking on a sunny summer day. I had two pints because I could.
Sitting on the outside patio with climbing hop vines in the background, the mood was light hearted and relaxed with the weekend crowd. Dog friendly, pooches were present.
