Happy Hour Hamburger, Lompoc Fifth Quadrant Brewery, Portland OR

Meeting a friend for happy hour on a misty and chilly Portland evening, we chose to meet on Tightwad Tuesday at Lompoc Fifth Quadrant. Tightwad Tuesday offers pints all day for $2.50. And for 5 bucks more, you get a Happy Hour Hamburger. What a deal. 

Happy Hour Burger

The Happy Hour burger is a 1/4 lb. of all natural, grass fed Angus ground chuck, grilled to your preference and served on a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, red onion and herb mayo. Along with a generous portion of fresh cut fries, the burger is plenty if you are looking for a moderate happy hour meal. The burger is solid beef, but juicy enough to make it a worthwhile burger. Along with good crispy fries, the happy hour meal satisfied.

Lingering over a second beer, we decided to finish the evening with an appetizer: Chipotle Black Bean Chili. The vegetarian chipotle is made with Lompoc's Sockeye Cream Stout. Topped with cheddar and jack cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, green onions and served with three crunchy tortilla chips, the chili proved lip-smackin' whoo-hoo spicy. You'll want to make sure you have that second pint of brew in your hand to take the heat off the peppery chipotle. 

Chipotle Black Bean Chili

For my beer, I chose the seasonal California Steaming. This steam style beer was an easy drink, with a clean and hoppy taste that went well with the burger and fries. And the crispy hoppiness cut right through the peppery chipotle.

Lompoc 5th Quadrant is located in a pleasant urban neighborhood on North Williams. The atmosphere is relaxed, with easy-going Portlanders sitting next to you. If you want some good beer and a great Happy Hour meal, check out 5th Quadrant on Tightwad Tuesdays.
