Baby Back Ribs, 75th Street Brewery, Kansas City, MO

The Great I-70 Brewpub and Baseball Adventure has begun: Kansas City and St. Louis. And a visit to Kansas City asks this Northwestener to try the ribs, and so I did- 1/2 rack baby back style.

75th Street's contribution to this American delicacy is slow roasted baby backs basted with the house bbq sauce. The plate also comes with crispy fries and a creamy coleslaw.
Baby Back Ribs

What you get is a slab of succulent ribs, moist on the inside and crisp on the outside. The ribs are basted with 75th's molasses bbq sauce and slow roasted so that the meat comes out as a mid-western smooth eatin' affair. The molasses chars the edges of the ribs to give you that crispy, sweet crunch to complement the melt-in-your-mouth meat on the bone. Sticky, thick bbq sauce is dripped over the cooked ribs for the required slurpy ribs experience. 75th's ribs were a true treat for this mid-west visitor. Try it the next time you find yourself in Kansas City. You won't be disappointed.

For my brew, I chose the seasonal hefeweisen. The 'hef' drank down light and smooth, with a spritzy effervescence to it that cleaned the palate for another go at the ribs.

75th Street also has a 7 hour roasted pork on the menu that tempted me dearly. Next time.

The baseball game? The Twins beat the Royals.
