Baby Back Ribs, Flat Branch Pub and Brewing, Columbia, MO

On the way to St. Louis, we stopped in Columbia for more ribs. And what a culinary delight we had. I ordered a half rack of baby backs. Flat Branch's ribs are dry rubbed seasoned and then grilled with a bourbon bbq sauce. The plate also comes with a side dish and more bbq sauce.
Baby Back Ribs
These ribs were good: fall-off-the-bone good. You just tear off a rib and munch down to a blissful experience of pork goodness. Succulent and tender, you get a mouthfu of savory baby back with each nibble off the bone. The outer meat has that crispy burnt sugar taste of the bourbon bbq sauce while the inside is all juicy meat. Caution: these ribs are so tender that a fall-off-the-bone morsel fell onto my shirt. Oh well, what's a bbq stain compared to this treat.
Yep, Life is good.

For my side, I chose the mashed potatoes. Creamy, thick, and lumpy, these mashies were just like mom used to make. When you visit Flat Branch, and don't know which side to choose, you won't go wrong with the mashed potatoes.

For my beer, I chose the Red Wheat. The medium bodied wheat drank down smooth and easy and was a perfect complement to the juicy ribs. Flat Branch serves their beer in impressive 18 ounce glasses, so you have plenty of brew for your baby back feast.

Located in the heart of Missouri, the pub was crowded with locals and well as platoons of little league baseball players, their moms and dads. A welcome sight for this visitor.
